RCDC Dress Rehearsal

We had dress rehearsal for the new competition season on Sunday, Jan 16th at the Wildwood Performing Arts Center. It was really neat. The dances looked good and I was pretty impressed. What a great way to get everyone pumped about the competition season!!

Snow Days!

The weather report for Sunday, January 9th was icy rain around noon. The snow started about 1 or so and started accumulating quickly. I got a lot done that afternoon: took down the indoor Christmas decorations and put them up, cleaned house, and started scrapbooking dance pictures.

We got a phone call from one of Olivia's friend's dads. He asked if Isabelle could stay with us that evening while he went out to pick his wife up from Children's Hospital. I said sure, we would just be eating chili and bathing kids for school the next day so she could join us. I ended up calling her dad, Daniel, back asking if she could just spend the night. Schools had been called already for Monday and since I was going to be out, I could keep her if he needed to go to work. He said he'd talk to her and probably she would decide to stay over. She came over around 5:30 or so and did stay over night. The girls all played together wonderfully! Isabelle was so easy-going that it helped the dynamics of our girls a lot! ha!

The next morning, Brian made the girls breakfast and we went outside trying to make a snowman...but the snow was too powdery. So, we decided to go on a walk with the dogs around the neighborhood. The creek was so beautiful! As the snow started melting and getting slushy, they went out back and built a snowman. Isabelle's dad came to get her that evening. It had been a great day!

The next day (Brian's birthday), school was called again. But the roads were pretty much dry, so we had a fun day out together.

New Year's Day

For the second year in a row, we went to the Fletcher's for New Year's Day. Olivia had spent the night again, and we went over around noon. The girls all dressed up and once Tiffany Lee got there, Bella asked her to straighten her hair. Once it was straight, then Tiffany worked on curling it. ha!

We ate ham, hashbrown casserole, fudge, Laura's black eyed peas (YUM!!), cheese dip, and yummy goodies. The guys watched football and the women talked. Such a fun and relaxing day!

New Year's Eve

We spent New Year's Eve day cleaning house and just doing hanging out. We planned to meet Julianne's family at the Jacksonville skating rink at 1:30 (Julianne had gotten new skates for Christmas and they wanted her to practice with the "walkers"). Olivia brought her new roller blades (from Dad and Yvonne) and all 3 girls went skating. So fun!

Then, both families went to eat at Texas Roadhouse. Olivia went home with the Fletcher's to spend the night.

2010 ornaments

Travel tree with ornaments from Vegas and Arkansas wine country.

Our tree this year--ornaments are still clumped together (lower end), but I am going to grin and bear it (symbol of my children still being little).
